Teun Hermsen

Teun Hermsen is McKinsey’s Chief of Staff in Western Europe. In this role he supports the regional head of Western Europe on a wide array of strategic and administrative topics, ranging from strategic client initiatives, long-term planning, orchestrating partner meetings and WE OPCO, supporting cell leaders on strategic issues, and supporting decision making on operational topics. In addition, he leads the People function across 18 countries, with responsibility for PD, HR and recruiting, and is part of the firm’s people leadership team.

Teun started his career at McKinsey in 2001 as a consultant in the Strategy and Corporate Finance practice with a focus in the Oil & Gas sector. In 2010, he left the Amsterdam office for Shanghai as Chief of Staff for Greater China, and came back in 2014 to fill his current position.

Teun holds a Business Administration degree from Nyenrode Business University. Prior to joining McKinsey, Teun worked at Royal Dutch Shell Netherlands for 6 years after his graduation.
