Ankur Bahl


McKinsey & Company

After completing a summer internship, Ankur joined McKinsey in October 2016. His client work is focused on the media and consumer industries, and in the strategy, organisation, and marketing functions. He is also heavily involved with McKinsey’s pro-bono efforts, helping non-profit theatre companies with strategic planning and working to launch McKinsey’s youth unemployment social initiative: Generation. He is a proud member of GLAM, McKinsey’s LGBTQ network, and is an active participant in McKinsey’s diversity recruitment efforts.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Ankur spent 10 years as an actor and dancer, most recently at Shakespeare’s Globe, RSC, and DV8 Physical Theatre. This performance work predominantly featured telling the stories of social minorities, including playing UK Theatre’s first-ever gay, male Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Shakespeare’s Globe, and gay Muslim characters in DV8’s To Be Straight With You at the National Theatre.

Ankur has an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, during which he was on the International Exchange Programme at LBS. A recipient of the Marshall and Fulbright Scholarships, Ankur also holds an MA in Migration and Diaspora from SOAS, an MA in Contemporary Dance from the London Contemporary Dance School, and a BA in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University.
